What is YOUR Goal?

Part of our 28 Day Challenge was to set goals as well as write a "Comittment Statment" to ourselves on how we were going to achieve them.  We are about half way through our 28 Day Challenge.  Where are you with your goals?

Remember, we are in this TOGETHER!  There will always be obstacles that will threaten our progress.  However, that is why we are part of  a team--to pick the other up, dust them off, and get back on the road.  We can Aspire Higher when we are BETTER TOGETHER!

Here's a motivational kick in the pants for you to help you recomitt to your goals....
Michael Before The Race
Michael the Miracle
A year ago, Michael's best friend brought him to Aspire Pilates Training Center hoping that we could help him with his hip pain.  When we first met Michael, he was walking with a cane (albeit a very nice one) and in constant pain.  He had been from doctor to doctor without a definitive diagnosis or plan of treatment outside of a cortisone shot or exploratory surgery.  We sent him to Cheryl Farnsworth, MPT who specializes in sacroiliac joint dysfunction and pain.  Collaborating with Cheryl, we found the perfect plan of physical therapy and Pilates that allowed him to ditch the pain medication within a couple of weeks.  A couple of months later, he was golfing his best games ever in Hawaii.  Pretty soon, our Pilates sessions went from Rehab-based to training an athlete.  That's when we knew it was time for a bigger challenge

We started adding 30 minute cardio sessions after his Pilates sessions.  We quickly made a goal--run a 5K Race!  Despite training in freezing temperatures, rain or snow, Michael achieve his goal Saturday in the South Jordan Valentine's 5K.  Not only did he finish the race....he beat his fastest time by 6 minutes and took home a 2nd Place Medal in his age division!

(and a shiny medal to prove it!)

So....what are YOUR goals?  It might just be to skip the chocolate for a day, or to walk for 20 minutes.  The point is, you made a goal towards a healthier lifestyle and you achieved it!

To the next 14 Days,

RUN with us!
Our next race will be the South Jordan St. Patrick's Day 5K on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at 4:30 p.m. ANYONE and EVERYONE can do this!  You set your own goal--which may be to just walk to the finish.  If you want to train with us, let us know and you can jump in our training walk/runs!
